Following the successful CFB-13 Conference in Vancouver, Canada, we are delighted to extend our warmest invitation to you for the highly anticipated 14th International Conference on Circulating Fluidized Bed Technology, CFB-14, scheduled to take place in Taiyuan, China from July 21st to 24th, 2024.

The CFB-14 conference aims to facilitate the convergence of prominent and emerging researchers, educators, and practitioners in circulating fluidized bed technology to share the exchange of impactful research findings, achievements, and practical experiences. Since CFB-11, the conference scope has also been extended to other fields of fluidization and fluidized bed technologies such as bubbling, turbulent and spouted bed.

On behalf of the CFB-14 Organizing Committee, we cordially invite you, your colleagues, and all university postdocs and students working on fluidization science and technology to participate in this conference.

Conference Themes

The CFB-14 Conference will continue the long-standing tradition of this conference series dating back to 1985, focusing on both fundamental research and practical applications in the field of circulating fluidized bed technology. Furthermore, it will integrate innovative fluidized bed reactor technologies, particularly those pertaining to environmentally friendly processes, sustainable and clean energy generation, energy storage and conversion systems, and carbon capture and utilization methods such as chemical looping combustion/gasification. In addition to investigating the fundamental and applied aspects of fluidized beds and fluidization systems, CFB-14 will also place a strong emphasis on fluidized bed technologies aimed at addressing energy and environmental challenges.

The 14th International Conference on Circulating Fluidized Bed Technology, CFB-14, will be hosted by the Department of Energy and Power Engineering, Tsinghua University, and held by Shanxi Key Laboratory of Efficient and Clean Combustion and Utilization of Circulating Fluidized Bed, Taiyuan University of Technology, in the city of Taiyuan, China.

Taiyuan City, the capital of Shanxi Province, located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River in North China and is surrounded by hills in its west, north and east. It is an ancient city with over 2,400 years of history, and was called “Jinyang” in ancient times.

In the early founding of China, Taiyuan was an industrial base. After more than 50 years, it has been built to possess a complete industrial system with various of industries as the pillars of energy, metallurgy, machinery and chemical, and other industries as textile, light industry, medicine, electronics, food, building materials, precise instruments, etc.

Taiyuan City has continental climate in northern temperate regions, no bitterly cold days in winter and no broiling hot days in summer, with a quite temperature difference between day and night and a long frost-free period and plenty of sunshine hours in a year. With a moderate temperature in summer, it is an agreeable place for people to visit and stay in summer.

Date of the Conference

The conference will be 3 days. The conference registration is on Sunday July 21st, and technical sessions start on Monday, July 22rd and finish on Wednesday, July 24th.
