The General Assembly is the most powerful authority of CSP, which is convened every four years. The representatives of CSP are all from academies, universities and industries. National congress of representatives of members, the council, the standing council and the secretariat constitute the whole CSP. The council and the standing council are democratically elected by the General Assembly, which guides the work of CSP during the closing period of the General Assembly. The council consists of famous experts, scholars and senior executives in Chinese particuology area. President of the council, vice president of the council and secretary-general are elected by the council. The daily work is taken charge of by the secretary-general. CSP has 9 professional boards and 6 working committees. Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences is the attached unit of CSP. The current council in power is the 7th council, of which the presidents are Yunfa Chen and Qingshan Zhu.
